An incredible instrument from German Luthiers Frank Deimel and his wife Kora Junger. The BlueStar Semi-Hollow Body is the most recent model in the Deimel lineup. Each Deimel guitar is completely unique and fully handbuilt to the highest quality standards. This Guitar features a Semi Hollow, thermo treated Alpine Spruce body and a Black Walnut Neck. The acoustic properties are on full display with these choices of tone-woods. The fingerboard is Black Ebony with incredible fretwork for easy playability and a smooth feel. The Offset body is extremely comfortable both seated or standing and is very well balanced with a nice light weight of 7lbs 2oz. The body of this Deimel BlueStar is beautifully contoured for extra comfort.

We love the aesthetics of this BlueStar. The Alpine Spruce has a gorgeous Bear Claw figure that just pops with the Arctic Blue acrylic guard and back plates. The raw and brushed metal accents such as the pickup covers, knobs and Mastery hardware all give this guitar a very industrial and modern yet classy look. 

The tones that are achievable are breathtaking. The pickups are Mojo Pickups UK's Dual-Foil, Humbucking Gold Foils. They have silver mesh with un-plated metal surrounds. Each pickup is independently splitable via the second two slide switches for ultimate tonal flexibility. In humbucking mode they are full, crisp and gritty with a nice spanky midrange; while splitting them gives you more clarity and chime. These are some of richest and most articulate pickups on the market. The first slide switch turns on an internal piezo pickup, that picks up the natural acoustic resonance of the guitar. While great for tricks, such as playing behind the bridge or nut and tapping on the body; it could also yield convincing Archtop and acoustic type tones. 

The Mastery Vibrato is smooth and works beautifully with the Mastery Bridge. It's hard to go wrong with this setup. Lastly this is the first Deimel to feature a Tornipulator circuit. The Tornipulator is the experimentalists dream mod. It consists of three momentary buttons and a microphone, found on the bass side of the guitar. The first button turns on the mic, for controlled feedback and unique sound scapes, you can also sing into it. The second button is a 60 Cycle Hum switch which is incredibly fun for rhythmic looping, while the final third button is a kill switch, cutting the signal of the pickups. Players love to use this button for tremolo type sounds. 

All in all this is a unique and inspiring instrument useful for many different styles. If you're looking for a great semi-hollow body guitar with huge versatility and a broad tonal palette, don't overlook this BlueStar.
