Double sided, gold toned metal coin pendant featuring the Roman Goddess Minerva or her Greek counterpart Athena. Minerva is known for her wisdom and valor. She is often associated with the arts, schools, and commerce.The lovely warrior is a cameo style repoussse haloed in a laurel leaf motif. The reverse side is a sculptural, stacked, ornate background cradling an enamel shield / code of arms. The pendant is appx 2" in diameter. The chain is 16". Some minor surface wear present but over all in great vintage condition. Stamped Germany on the clasp. Fabulous statement piece presenting a legendary female figure.
