When my longtime friend and guitar maker decided it was time to tie the knot, we set out to create a suit worthy of the occasion. After careful consideration, we landed on a mix of velvet and lamb—a combination.

Jimmy had a linen-cotton version of this jacket—one that James had worn like only he could, until every thread had a story to tell. To bring that essence back to life and send him off from the land of the single to marital bliss, it had to be something truly special.

Velvet from head to toe isn’t always easy to pull off, but that’s where my years of experience, my degree in textiles, and my instinct for quality came into play. We found the perfect weight—luxurious yet wearable. For the shirt, we skipped the tie and let it be the statement piece, choosing a bold nickel-sized dot pattern for just the right amount of pop.

I’m so proud to have been a part of this day. It’s a reminder that clothing is more than just something we wear—it tells the story of our lives. And this is a story I’m honored to have been a part of.
