Together, Let Our Voices Out!  "Only Yes Means Yes! "

November 25th is International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

HÁI invites everyone this year to support the "Together, Let Our Voices Out!" with the Modern Women's Foundation. According to the foundation's research, up to 40% of victims have never disclosed their experiences of abuse to anyone. Most of them are concerned about the lack of sufficient evidence or fear the shame and disruption of their lives that may come with reporting, leading them to endure the trauma alone, causing great concern.

Of those victims open to seeking support from the foundation, one in five only reached out formally more than six months after the incident occurred. The reluctance to seek external assistance can be traced back to the lack of understanding of trauma within both family and society. Moreover, the fear of victim-blaming and misconceptions about sexual violence serve as significant barriers to victims disclosing such incidents openly.

Understanding is the first step that can help these stories come to light. Let's work towards creating a society where victims can seek assistance safely and support them on their path to recovery.
