Diamond Locating Pins

One Round Locating Pin and one Diamond Locating Pin are often used together to locate from two holes without binding, because the Diamond Locating Pin is relieved to locate in only 1 axis. The type with a press-fit shank, is designed for permanent installation. Head and shank diameters are concentric to within .0005" TIR. Made in USA.

Locating Principles

When a round pin and diamond pin are used together, the round pin is the primary, 2-axis locator, while the diamond pin is the secondary, 1-axis locator. Diamond pins are relieved to locate only radially around the round pin, avoiding redundant location. This prevents binding, yet still maintains high accuracy.

8     0.2780-0.5040

12     0.4640-0.7540

16     0.7140-1.0040

Example: For a Diamond Locating Pin with a 1/2" shank and A = 0.4000".
