This first bundle contains the elements of the huge regular army under Napoleon III and the units of the Army of Africa which took part in the attempt to repel the Prussian invasion.
The line Infantry and the foot Chasseurs regiments all wore pretty much the same uniform. The various types of cavalry, apart from the Hussars, only had slight regimental distinctions, collars cuffs and saddle covers usually were distinctive. There is a separate sheet in this bundle which gives the regimental details. Felt tip pens are the perfect tool for colouring them, if you wish to chase down that sort of detail.
The second bundle, which will follow the German bundle, will contain distinctive elements of the Imperial Guard, and a fair sample of the Francs Tireurs, the irregular militia riflemen who fought a guerrilla war against the occupiers. There will also be some Garibaldini and armed civilians.
The figures are identical to the 28mm ones but downscaled to 18mm to the eyes. This means that in a single sheet there are more figures to cut out and thus have larger battles.
The bundle in 18mm comprises:
Once downloaded, the sheets can be printed as often as you like, which means you can build up Large Amounts of Units very cheaply.
You will need scissors, a craft knife, glue, appropriate paper and some stiffer card for bases, all of which are described in the how-to section.
The figures are laid out in A4 format, which will print onto US legal sized paper, or will fit US letter size printed at 93%.
