The PS-C8R is a metal rough-in bracket for 8-inch round Sonance Professional Series in-ceiling speakers, designed to be installed during new construction or major rework while the ceiling is still open. The bracket locates and protects the speaker cutout during drywall, paint, and finish work, and provides additional structural support for the heavier 8-inch speaker once the finished ceiling is in place.

Using a metal rough-in bracket — rather than installing the speaker directly into drywall later — reduces commissioning risk, keeps speaker locations aligned with the construction documents, and is especially important for 8-inch ceiling speakers in seismic and high-vibration environments where the additional cabinet mass requires more structural support. Supplied 6 each per pack so an installer can rough in an entire ceiling field from a single carton.

Coordinate rough-in placement with the electrical, HVAC, and fire-suppression trades before drywall — the metal bracket reserves the 8-inch speaker location precisely and prevents field conflicts that would otherwise force speaker relocation after finished ceiling is in place. Heavier 8-inch ceiling speakers also benefit most from rigid metal support; ABS flex brackets are acceptable for 4- and 6-inch but specify metal for 8-inch.
