This artwork features Aleef (in white acrylic ink) as the first and leading letter in the Arabic Thuluth alphabet (huruf/abjad). It is surrounded by the rest of the alphabetic family letters, including different forms of diacritical and orthographical marks (reading signs), as well as decorative signs, which are used to facilitate the classical Arabic Thuluth script.
