The Colour pacifier is the original BIBS dummy and has been on the market for over 40 years. It has the signature round BIBS shield with three vent holes and round BIBS engraved handle ring.

The round natural rubber latex nipple is designed to resemble the shape and size of the mother’s soft nipple and promotes a similar tongue placement and sucking technique when breastfeeding.

The dummy  is therefore recommended by midwives to support natural breastfeeding.

About GLOW feature

The glow feature makes it easy for both parents and little ones to find the pacifiers in the dark and accommodates the frustration it can cause for parents to stand in the middle of the night - in total darkness - looking for the pacifier with a crying child.

Simply hold the pacifier up to a lamp for 5-10 sec. to activate the effect. Illuminates for 8+ hours.

Nipple information

The round nipple promotes a similar tongue placement and sucking technique when breastfeeding, since the round shape allows the sides of the tongue to elevate and cup around the nipple, just like it does during breastfeeding.

The nipple is equipped with a valve, letting out air when the baby closes down on the nipple thereby flattening the nipple to shape naturally after the baby's oral cavity.

The nipple is produced from natural rubber latex. Since natural rubber latex is a natural material, colour variation may occur.

Shield information

The round lightweight shield faces away from the sensitive and delicate skin around the baby's mouth to ensure minimum contact with the baby's nose and mouth, which means less chance of moisture build-up from saliva that can cause rashes and sore spots.

The shield comes in one size no matter the nipple size.

It is important to to note, varying sizes should be used as a guide only. Our experience is that the following sizes are the general and therefore also our common recommendation.

• Size 1: 0+ months
• Size 2: 6+ months
• Size 3: 18+ months

Safety and standards

All BIBS pacifier products comply with the European Standard EN 1400+A2 and requirements of AS 2432:2015 specific to our region.

Australian standards:  The mandatory standard requirements for babies’ dummies are based on certain sections of the voluntary Australian Standard AS 2432:2015 Standard for Babies’ Dummies and the voluntary European Standard EN 1400:2013+A1:2014 

Cleaning

Natural rubber latex can smear off to the shield in rare cases, so it is important to sterilise in plenty of water and we recommend sterilising latex pacifiers separately. This only applies before first use.

When cleaning the pacifier subsequently, follow these three simple steps:

• Put the dummy in a clean bowl. Pour boiling water over the dummy.
• Let the dummy soak for approx. 5 min.
• Pick them up and let them dry on a clean towel.
