A quintessentially Swinging Sixties cocktail dress, very Dolly. This mini dress is vintage 1960s, with a cage/trapeze silhouette for the peekaboo semisheer outer layer, while the beige underlayer is fitted to the body with darts. The dress is sleeveless, with a scooped neckline and an oversized soft bow at the top in the back.

FABRIC/COLORS: The inner dress is done in beige crepe, aka caucasian nude. The outer dress fabric is black. It's an unusual weave, like a devore crepe, done in a stylized pattern of floral silhouettes in crepe against a sheer chiffon background. The fabric is somewhat crisp to touch - I believe it's rayon based on a fiber burn test.

TAGS: The only tag is an ILGWU label at the base of the zipper - it's the one that was used from 1963 to 1974.

CLOSURES: The inner dress closes with a long metal zipper up the back, while the outer dress has an open placket over the zipper to create some vertical visual interest. The large bow covers the top of both, attached with a hook & eye, and snaps.

CONDITION: No stains, holes, tears or other issues were noted.
