DETAILS: These 40s rayon dresses are so flattering, yet perfectly ladylike. This one probably dates to the late 1940s, when the hems got a bit longer again. The bodice is fitted with multiple darts - the petal sleeves are an unusual design feature. A spray of leaves, done in a light tan soutache spray over the right shoulder. The swingy skirt has five gores, four of them in back. A two-tiered peplum accentuates the front waist, and wraps around into the edges of the center back gore.

CONDITION: There are subtle but visible underarm rings from previous wear - see closeup. No odor detected. A few tiny pinholes - see other closeup for example. The dress was probably designed with shoulder pads - I have shown it in a few photos with some of my shoulder pads to give you an idea - they are not included with purchase.
