This is the oldest extant complete manuscript of the Hebrew Bible in existence, dating from 1008 A.D.

The Leningrad Codex is housed in the Russian National Library in St. Petersburg and has become popularly known as the Leningrad Codex. It is also known as the Cairo Codex, because of its Egyptian origin. The manuscript first came to scholarly attention in 1845 and was subsequently acquired in 1863 for what was then the Imperial Public Library in St. Petersburg.

Some have suggested that this Codex is the single most important manuscript of the Bible because of its role in the established of the text of the critical editions of the Old Testament.

The present is a large folio, weighing over 13 pounds, containing a full photographic reproduction of the original with critical introduction, notes, etc.,  Scarce on the market. Only one other offered at present, and that at $4,995.00 [which is silly].
