A very scarce early Doctrines and Discipline of the Methodist Episcopal Church in America with excellent provenance, having belonged to prominent early American Methodist, Ezekiel Cooper. Cooper was among the earliest of the American Circuit Preachers, and build the Methodist Book Concern from nothing to being the largest publishing concern in America in less than 10 years. He was so influential that, upon the death of Francis Asbury, Cooper was asked to deliver the Address to the Annual Convention.

Signed faintly on title by Cooper, then inscribed to him on the rear of the title, indicating perhaps this was a research or circulating copy he had available when he ran the Methodist Book Concern. 

Historically, the 1792 Conference was the site of the first schism of the Methodists in America. Led by James O'Kelly of Virginia, nearly one-fifth of the membership left to form the Republican Methodist Church.
