Antique French cruche with two handles, a spout, and unique and hard to find emerald green glaze, circa 1870s. Water pitchers like this were traditionally used to keep water cool inside the home or out in the fields. They were only half glazed because they would have been stored in the ground. A utilitarian piece, this Provençal water pitcher has a nice weathered patina with imperfections that authenticate its age. We have a large selection of antique French confit pots.
