Large 19th century Country French Louis XIV style carved hall or window bench handcrafted of solid chestnut in Normandy, having a richly carved front panel featuring five medallions with large nailhead trim, a removable top that lifts to reveal spacious interior storage, and higher arm rests on each end, circa 1820s. Raised on block feet. The aged, warm patina adds to the charm of this versatile provincial piece. Great for an entrance hall, a kitchen, mudroom, or at the foot of a bed.
