Only 2 copies were pressed worldwide in 1972, the ultimate British Heavy Psychedelic rarity! The Grit, formed in 1970 in Islington, north London, is a "phantom" heavy psychedelic band. The band, led by guitarist Frank "Spider" Martinez, recorded three demos in December 1972, but were never signed to a record label. The band broke up in the summer of 1973 without releasing any new material. They have long since been forgotten, but in 2015, Hans Pokora, a world-renowned collector of rare psychedelic music, discovered an acetate of only two pressed copies (some say three) in the German city of Nomi. The record became the talk of the town when he introduced it in his book "7001 Record Collector Dreams" (also known as "Pokora's Book") as a "6" in the rarities ranking. After a search by interested parties and enthusiasts, Martinez's whereabouts were discovered.This album, made from his own master tapes, finally reveals the full story! The band's extraordinary potential is revealed by Martinez's fuzzed-out heavy riffs and sharp leads, influenced by Cream, Jimi Hendrix, and John Mayall, and by Jeff Ball's Robert Plant-like shouts.
