These versatile everyday totes are made by a group of women artisans in La Palma and Chalatenango, El Salvador. They use satin ribbons to embroider each canvas bag, following the weaving techniques of their Mayan ancestors. Through their crafts, the women have helped provide health care, education and basic food for their families. They have also been able to travel outside the country to share their art with the rest of the world.
